On April 3, 2005 several Langan clan members met at my house in Brooklyn.

Except for spouses we are all descendants of Mathias and Margaret Langan through their son, Mathias Langan and his wife, Nappy Byrne.

Mathias and Nappy had five children; Pat, Martin, Maggie, James and Bridget. Descendants of Martin and Maggie were present.

The Descendants of Martin Langan

Martin Langan (born 1872 Mohorra, Shrule Parish, County Mayo Ireland) and his wife, Ellen Moughan (born 1874 in Ballinrobe, Ireland) had two daughters, Martha and Helen.

Ken Carty, his wife, Kathy, Bob Carty and his wife, Sue

Ken and Bob are the sons of Martha Langan Carty (born in NYC in 1898).

Ken brought additional information on the family of Martin Langan and Ellen Moughan Langan.

The Descendants of Maggie Langan

Descendants of Lillie, William, Isabelle, Charles and George were at the get-together on April 3.

Joan O'Neil Donovan and her daughters, Maureen and Irene

Joan O'Neil Donovan is the daughter of Lillie Walsh O'Neil.

Joan brought lots of wonderful old photos of her family and also several old photos of Lillie's cousins: Tootsie (Mary) Walsh (The daughter of Michael Walsh and Bridget (Beezie) Kallora) and Margaret (the daughter of Thomas Walsh and Margaret Hefferine). Michael and Thomas were brothers of Joseph Walsh.

Charlotte Buda

Charlotte Buda is the daughter of William Walsh and his second wife, Mary Jerabek. Charlotte brought photos of her half brother, Gerard, and his family.

Betty Geohle Mohring, her husband, Ray, and their daughter, Monica

Betty is the youngest daughter of Isabelle Walsh Goehle. Isabelle born in 1901 was the 4th child of Joseph and Maggie.

Ed Land

My brother, Ed Land, is the oldest child of Agnes Goehle Land and Bud Land. Agnes was the oldest daughter of Isabelle Walsh and Frank Goehle. Ed brought photos from his recent trip to Ireland including more photos of Ballinrobe, Mohorra, Shrule and County Mayo.

Susan Edgar Commender

Susan Edgar Commender is the daughter of Peggy Goehle and Charlie Edgar. Peggy is the daughter of Isabelle Walsh Goehle.

Family of Charles Walsh: Mary Herdman, Clare Esser, Kathy and Mike McEneney and their niece and her baby daughter

Mary, Clare, and Kathy are the daughters of Charles Walsh born 1904 the 6th child of Maggie and Joseph.

Kathy and Mike McEneny brought photos of the Ballinrobe graveyard and a photo of the interior of St. Mary's church Ballinrobe.
