The United States Federal Census

Federal censuses are taken in the United States every 10 years. Census information is made availabe to the general public after 72 years. The 1930 cenus information was released in April 2002.Unfortunately, the 1930 census has not been indexed for New Jersey. This means that to find a given individual it is very helpful to have an address.

Abraham, Melcon, Mary and Alice were listed at 402 9th Avenue Union City as follows:

  • Abraham Azarian, head, rent $33, age 65, widowed, age at first marriage 29, born in Turkey, language spoken at home before coming to the United States, Armenian, immigrated in 1920, alian, occupation, none
